Duties include:

1. Pre and post-tender preparation of contract programme and subsequent placing of sub-contract orders on, and control of, sub-contractors.
2. Production of sub-contractor procurement schedules.
3. Preparation and/or agreement of, plant (via d&k) and material requirements (via central purchasing) and subsequent procurement.
4. Engagement and dismissal of labour, exercising due caution and correct consultation procedures when considering dismissal.
5. Responsible for safety on all sites including risk assessments, method /quality statement and compliance with requirements of hse.
6. Holding internal and external pre-start meetings.
7. Ensure the works meet the requirements of the contract documents.
8. To be cost accountable for the satisfactory financial execution of all assigned contracts & achievement of forecast margins as a minimum.
9. Prepare valuations for interim and final applications for payment.
10. Report to the general manager with financial details to be incorporated in cost/value reports.
11. Control of contracts manning/staffing levels.
12. Represent the company at site meetings.
13. Assist when required with the estimating function.
