NEW YEAR, NEW CONTRACTS FOR DORIN CONSTRUCTION
3rd March 2009
ONE of the North-East’s leading independent construction companies has got 2009 off to a positive start after securing contracts since January, totaling £2.7m.
Kingston Park-based, Dorin Construction has won three contracts for public sector projects across the region.
The schemes, a £1.2m property and environmental refurbishment project for Newcastle City Council houses in the West End of Newcastle, the construction of a £1m dining hall facility at Thornhill School in Sunderland, and a £470k office refurbishment for Gateshead PCT’s Headquarters at Team Valley will all commence this month.
Mick McHugh, Construction Director says: “This is a good start to the year for the company. Our new business teams deserve the credit as they have been working hard to secure these contracts, which are in line with our budgets for 2009.
“We have a number of schemes currently underway, including a social housing scheme at Blyth and a new outpatient wing for St Oswald’s Hospice and we are looking forward to starting these new contracts.”
Dorin Construction recently announced contract wins for St Agnes Road Care Home in Crawcrook for UGC Holdings worth £2.5m and the £2.5million construction of a 75-bedroom, three-storey care home on the site of Bensham Wholesale Foods, and is rapidly becoming a leader in the care home and medical sector.
Mick concludes: “We continue to undertake and secure a range of construction projects from social housing and school refurbishments to industrial installation and office developments."
“However, the work we are undertaking with care homes, schools and within the medical sector are becoming growing areas for the company. It is a sector we have a great deal of strength in and our teams are established to project manage and deliver state-of-the-art facilities for clients. We are looking forward to winning further work in these areas.”
Dorin Construction is recognised as one of the region’s leaders in the provision of construction services employing 150 with an annual turnover of £20m.
